MODEL ANALOGUE LABORATORY
The Analogue Modelling Laboratory is holding experiments in the volcano-tectonic field (deformation of volcanic edifices due to intrusion and spreading processes) since 2013. For making those experiments, in the Laboratory we use several different materials (sand, silicone, syrup) which can be prepared and characterized also with the neighbour Laboratory of Geology URJC equipment (eg., scale, oven or sieves). As well, at the Laboratory we have developed several monitoring devices for the experiments by using optical cameras and depth sensors (Kinect) connected to the computing systems of the lab. All these data can be analysed with the technical equipment of the LabTEP (see). The experiments performed until now at the Analogue Modelling Laboratory have lead the development Ph.D. Thesis of Marta Rincón (June 2019) some of which results have been presented at national/international scientific meetings and scientific papers (eg., Rincón et al. 2018).
